I’m John Mercer, President and founder of SARTech Solutions, and this is my son, best friend and hero Santiago, affectionally known as “Santi”. Together we built this company to achieve a lifelong goal of supporting small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in managing their technological infrastructure. Officially launched in 2023, SARTech Solutions embodies our commitment to providing SMBs with affordable, innovative technology solutions while upholding our core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, quality, community and exceptional customer service.
My journey into the world of IT began long before SARTech Solutions. Over the past decade, I’ve managed and developed IT services for SMBs and municipalities within the expansive realm of Managed Service Providers. This professional journey is deeply rooted in the work ethic I learned in my early years partnering alongside my father, Karl Mercer, in our family plumbing business. Those early experiences instilled in me the importance of customer service and integrity, principles that have been fundamental to my professional success and personal life.
Hailing from a small town near Flint, Michigan, I’ve always embodied the values that are typically found in small, close-knit communities. These values guide our approach at SARTech Solutions, where we view technology not just as hardware and software but as a tool for enhancing people’s lives and businesses. We strive to be more than just a service provider; we aim to be a strategic partner, helping our clients navigate the complex technological landscape with tailored solutions that meet their unique needs.
A significant inspiration behind SARTech Solutions is my adopted son, Santi, who was born with a dislocated spine. Santi has been a beacon of resilience and positivity in my life, profoundly impacting me along my journey to becoming a business owner. He has taught me invaluable lessons about strength and perseverance and it’s this inspiration that drives me to create a lasting legacy for my family through SARTech Solutions.
Together, Santi and I have become “road warriors,” traveling across the U.S. for adaptive sports, including baseball and basketball. His involvement with teams like the Charlotte Rollin’ Hornets has not only enriched his life but also provided a supportive community for us both. Santi, now an adult, continues to exemplify strength and perseverance, teaching us all that our only true limitations are the ones we set for ourselves.
